Andy Thompson finally jets off to India to compete in the 2009 World Powerlifting Championships

After problems with visa's the Great Britain team finally jetted out to India on Thursday and arrived on Friday afternoon.

Andy was disappointed with his competition after not recording a good bench press lift so was unable to record a total.

Andy's lifts were:- Squat 350kgs  

Bench Press 275 kgs which failed

Deadlift 320 kgs.

Good news was team mate Dean Bowring lifting in the same weight class 125+ kgs won the Gold medal with a total of 1055 kgs.
